about

In Loving Memory of Cory "El Blanco" McClure, and his Mother, Joy McClure. Peace be upon them both.

Hey everyone, allow us to take you back to the age of Soulsteps, circa 2011. This album is the result of many hours together as a band of musical brothers, all of whom brought a lot of exciting potential to this original project.

We really put our hearts into this music.

We'll never see another Soulsteps, and our drummer Cory McClure is why. Cory always put EVERYTHING into his music. Passionate would be an understatement. He and Daniel Be on the bass had been collaborating for some time before I came into the picture and our band was born. Cory had a love for instrumental music (for example listen to track 8 "The Music is Breathing") And once I joined DB and Cory, I brought lyrics and a whole new aspect to songwriting as we would work the tunes for hours, exploring truly wonderful musical territory.
Soulsteps covers a lot of ground, and at it's core this power-trio was all about groove, and making all these beautiful ladies dance! Add some funk, reggae, hip-hop, rock, and pure boogie, and you've got us in Paonia Town Park, going BERSERK for Cherry Days!
It was epic.
Enjoy this relic, dear friends!
I love U,
JAM
